Reach Out to other Community Organizations to Provide Support

  • The Labor Network for Sustainability is a great place to start your climate work.  There are many Climate organizations that have chapters in many cities across the country you can connect with that care about workers in their community.  Your community job, utilizing electric vehicles, providing safe climate services in the wake of a natural disaster, are all important for the community, their homes and the future of their families.
  • Town Halls, and Public Meetings are a great place to meet members of other organizations check with your Senators, House Representative, or Mayor as to what organizations they work with on climate issues.
  • AFL-CIO and Central Labor Councils are great places to connect with other unions.  Many unions are doing campaign work on climate justice for their workers.  It’s a great place to network and share climate projects.
  • Your League of Women Voters, your Town Hall, your City Council, Religious groups, your news media, and congressional members know a lot about the community groups in your area.  Reach out for support.
  • Your own members belong to organizations in the community that can help reach out to them to sign on for support for climate campaigns in the community and on the job.
  • Community connection empowers, pools resource, increase communication, develop political clout, and create a long-term permanent social change, while providing better work lives
