National Pre-Arbitration Agreement: Article 8; Hours of Work (1983)

The question in this grievance is whether management violated the National Agreement by not compensating employees for time spent outside their normal schedule completing an inservice examination. It was mutually agree to full settlement of this case as follows: 1. Inservice examinations are to be conducted on a no-gain-no-loss basis. 2. Management will not intentionally schedule inservice examinations in order to avoid any payment applicable under the no-gain-no-loss principle.
