APWU Member Back From 2nd Tour in Iraq
April 7, 2009
APWU member Drew Yerger is looking forward to his second time around as a window clerk. It will be a pleasant change of pace and workplace: His last job was in the Iraqi desert. It was his second time around there, too.
Yerger, 28, is a member of the Southwest Florida Area Local who first went to work at the Postal Service three years ago. Prior to that, he was in the Marines. Now a sergeant, the Marco Island resident was part of the initial military campaign, based at first in Kuwait.
Last fall, Sgt. Yerger was back in Iraq, this time as a Marine reserve. The seven-year veteran returned to the states in March, and says that he expects to be back working for the Postal Service full-time this fall.
