Look Who Dropped In!

Danny Glover, the star of "Lethal Weapon" and "The Color Purple," stopped by the union office on May 9 for an informal conversation with APWU officers about the building of a Grand Alliance to save the U.S. Postal Service. As the son of postal workers, Glover has a deep appreciation for the importance of the USPS in serving in the country and in offering good, living-wage jobs to people of color and workers of all races. In addition to his film roles, he is well-known for his political activism and humanitarian endeavors.
APWU Mark Dimondstein said, “I hope this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. I hope we will work together to make sure that our national treasure is here for generations to come.” Dimondstein thanked long-time political activist Bill Fletcher for facilitating the meeting.
