Candidates Certified for Election Of Chicago Region Clerk NBA
July 27, 2007
Secretary-Treasurer Terry Stapleton has certified six union members as candidates for the position of Clerk Craft National Business Agent (A) for the Chicago region. The nominating process was extended because of the untimely death of Percy Harrison Jr., who passed away on June 18. Brother Harrison had filed the necessary petitions for candidacy and was unopposed.
A drawing to determine ballot placement for the candidates’ names was held on Friday, July 27, 2007, at 5 p.m. As a result of that drawing, this is the order in which the names will appear:
- Patrick A. Chornoby (Detroit District Area Local)
- Robert E. Henry (Chicago Local)
- Linda J. Turney (Schaumburg, IL, Local)
- William “Bill” Scutt (Western Michigan Area Local)
- Raymond Novakoski (Western Michigan Area Local)
- Alan J. Czerwinski (Northwest Illinois Area Local)
Candidates’ statements, which are due Aug. 3, will be mailed to eligible Clerk Craft voters in the Chicago Region. Voting for National Business Agent (A) will take place at the same time as for all other candidates for APWU national positions.
Ballots will be mailed on or after Sept. 12, but no later than Sept. 15. Completed ballots must be received in the designated post office box by Friday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m.
