Help Homeless Vets

The APWU Human Relations Department is reminding locals and state organizations to contribute at least one backpack filled with personal-care items for homeless and under-served veterans, to be distributed at the Winterhaven Stand Down on Jan 22.

The backpacks — filled with food, toiletries, and other items from a “wish list” — will help these men and women get through long days and cold nights. The backpacks, which will be distributed at the event by APWU officers and members, must be received at APWU’s national office by Jan. 15. “Please join us in letting these veterans know that we have not forgotten their service,” said Human Relations Director Sue Carney.
